I shared the host folder with the guest OS by changing the settings of my guest OS on VirtualBox. I also installed Guest Additions on the guest using VirtualBox’s interface. Have you installed Guest Additions on your Ubuntu guest? You’re entering the command on the guest, right?

hie.. I am using windows 7 as host and ubuntu 10 as guest…i tried to share folder from B: drive of windows 7 through Virtualbox .by the command
sudo mount -t vboxsf SharedFolder /mnt/SHARE

But it give me error called:
mount:unknown file system type ‘vboxsf’

Please clarify this problem.and give any solution

Thank you.. It helped be a lot. I was using the sudo mount -t vboxsf shared /home/daniel/shared command and didn’t work. Again, thanks alot.

I think we were at this show at the same time – too bad we didn’t run into each other! I, too, noticed the amazing hand quilting on the whole cloth quilt. It was Grannies Garden by Lorna Ruelle.

I like your reportage, and look forward to many more posts like this one. I think you made some good choices on what to profile from the exhibition. The two portrait quilts in particular were really great!

Hi satvik,

Did you replace “shared” with the name of your shared folder? For example, I’m sharing my D:\ drive which VirtualBox calls D_DRIVE, so I changed it to “sudo mount -t vboxsf D_DRIVE /home/christopher/shared” which works.

The second part of adding the shared folder did not worked for me.
It showed the following error
/sbin/mount.vboxsf: mounting failed with the error: No such file or directory
