A favourite shot from our trip to Paris [PHOTOS] in June 2007. Scott took this picture of the 2007 White Dinner. We walked from the Louvre to the Arc de Triomphe along the Champs Elysees and noticed an unusual number of people wearing white and carrying picnic baskets, card tables and folding chairs. By the time sunset was approaching and we were on top of the Arc surveying the scenery, several thousand Parisians had converged on the streets radiating from the monument and were setting up long rows of tables covered in linen.
Apparently this happens once a year and it’s very much like a rave – the exact location is unknown until the very last possible minute at which point thousands converge and dine and celebrate. I loved Paris. I discovered that my French is still pretty good and I found Parisians to be nicer, friendlier and more helpful than the people in Antwerp or Amsterdam. They weren’t rude at all. I was almost disappointed!
